In its most basic form, Stormglas consists of its two founders Andreas Borregaard (mostly accordion) and Mikkel Sørensen (mostly electrical guitar), but often the work of Stormglas includes other artists or musicians.
Stormglas works across genres and art forms striving to explore new paths – artistically as well as conceptually.
Previous works include modern dance in collaboration with the Danish Dance Theatre, comprehensive touring in the Nordics with pieces by contemporary composers and installation art in collaboration with Finnish artist Hans Rosenström.
Andreas is a soloist graduate from The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and PhD in artistic research from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He is an internationally leading accordion soloist and chamber musician and through collaboration with composers from all over Europe he actively influences the development of the accordion’s use and repertoire. Andreas is accordion professor at the Hanover University for Music, Drama and Media.
Mikkel is a graduate from The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and holds both a Master of Arts from the University of Copenhagen and an Executive MBA from the Technical University of Denmark. Mikkel is active across various genres and has done studio recordings and played concerts around the world with a number of acclaimed artists. Furthermore, Mikkel is the Managing Director of the deep tech innovation hub, DTU Skylab.
